Noelle,

You’re sitting up unassisted now (hence the title, 90 degrees. It has nothing to do with with the weather — hence the clothes)! You can’t get quite into the sitting position yourself, but you can stay there for a while if we help you up — enough that we were able to get these beautiful pictures of you.

More soon,

Dad

{ The Pictures }

We’ve been pretty heavy on posts the last couple of days which tends to happen when I have some time off work. I’ve been doing a lot of studying and working on refining my post processing and I think it’s really paying off. There’s not a ton of major stuff done to these, but just some very subtle adjustments that make a ton of difference in how “polished” the final image becomes.

All of these are natural light, shot with the Canon 5D MK II and the Canon 50mm f1.4 @ f2.2. I switched back and forth between a silver and white reflector depending on how the light changed.

The outfit was chosen by dad 🙂 and mom helped a lot with drawing out expressions and getting Noelle’s attention. The entire shoot was probably only 10 minutes long. The temperature had to have dropped 10 degrees from when we got out of the car to when we finished shooting and we had to jet back to shelter. Noelle wasn’t dressed for the temperature change and my hands were frozen. It kinda sucks that the grass still has so much green in it. I wanted it to all be dead. I could have removed the color in photoshop but I didn’t want to go that far with it.

Tomorrow is Christmas day! We’ll be posting up the image we took a few weeks ago and sent out as Christmas cards. Merry Christmas everyone!
