Yesterday you rode on a boat for the first time! All three of the families decided to rent a boat and head over to crab island under the Destin bridge. Crab Island is very cool — it’s an underwater island/sandbar that stretches a few football fields. All of the water is crystal clear and ranges from 2-5 feet. It’s like a swimming pool in the ocean.
We saw a dolphin, a stingray, a manatee, and — thankfully, after we were back in the boat — a baby shark. It was maybe 3 or 4 feet long. Unfortunately, I don’t have any pictures from crab island because I wanted to enjoy it with you and couldn’t guarantee the safety of the camera off the boat š
We had some snacks on the boat and they managed to attract three or fourĀ seagulls. They flew behind us and besides almost the entire time. I managed to grab a shot of a beautiful gull as it flew overhead.
This boat rideĀ has been one of my favorite parts of the trip. I think it’s something we’ll make a tradition out of. It gives you a completely different beach/ocean experience.
Okay, time for me to head down to the beach and join you and mom…
